Suwani Nexus Hub integrates research, digital agriculture and enterprise systems to deliver practical, scalable solutions for livestock and poultry production across SSA and SADC. We turn knowledge into measurable impact.
About SNH
SNH was built to close the gap between research, technology and real farm application. Our vision is to become a leading African nexus for agricultural innovation, digital transformation and sustainable enterprise development.
We serve smallholder to commercial livestock and poultry farmers, agribusinesses and cooperatives, postgraduate students and early-career researchers, universities and research institutes, and government and development institutions across South Africa, SADC and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Our values: practical impact, scientific integrity, innovation with purpose, farmer-centred design, collaboration and sustainability.
SNH is led by Prof. Obert Tada, PhD (Pr.Sci.Nat.), Associate Professor of Animal Breeding & Genetics at the University of Limpopo and a SACNASP-registered Principal Natural Scientist. He has taught and researched for more than 20 years across South Africa and Zimbabwe. His record includes over 40 peer-reviewed articles, more than US$1.1 million in research funding secured, chairing the 55th SASAS Congress (2025) which drew over 350 delegates, membership of South Africa's National Advisory Committee for Farm Animal Genetic Resources, and origin of the Economic Weight-Dependent Culling Method for livestock selection.
